I have died many a death in love, and yet, had I not loved I would never have lived at all.David Lasater This memorial website was created to remember our dearest James (Jimbo) Andrew Bothwell who was born in George Town, Grand Cayman on December 31, 1971 and passed away on August 20, 1993 at the age of 21. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.
Jim was a very special son and brother. He left this world suddenly on August 20th, 1993 after a tragic car accident. The irony of it all was he served in the first Iraq war and survived, only to return home and die in a senseless accident. Jimbo, as we affectionately called him, was the joy in all our lives....he had his tough times as well but could find a way to make it all better with that million watt smile and great laugh. His laughter touched many lives but especially the lives of his sisters and brothers. He is missed terribly by them all - sisters Derrie, Kristie and Noelani and brothers, Shane and Bob. His absence from our lives has left a crater that will never be filled until we see him again. Shortly after his departure he gave us a special message and promised to look after all of us.....we have seen this fulfilled and still do today. Sometimes it is a comforting feeling and the presence of his immense joy...his laughter....I still hear it today.

I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too,
I think of you in silence I often speak your name
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part
God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart.
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
